The mission of the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is five fold:

  1. To provide a facility for the rescue, treatment, and release or rehoming of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife, other waterfowl, and dumped or surrendered farm animals.

  2. To educate the public about and to promote understanding of the local wildlife and their habitats, as well as ethical treatment and care of farm animals.

  3. To increase awareness of and appreciation for the value of wildlife and the environment, and to protect these natural resources

  4. To promote the highest standards in all activities of the rehabilitator profession

  5. To promote networking, communication, and cooperation among rehabilitators, wildlife organizations, farm sanctuaries, and facilities on local, statewide, and national levels.

Carolina Waterfowl Rescue (CWR) is run by experienced, federally-licensed migratory bird rehabilitators specializing in birds. We strive to take the forgotten and unwanted animals that fall through the cracks with traditional rescues. We provide care for animals along with trained volunteers and avian veterinarians. We strive for the highest standards in animal care as well as promoting professionalism in the wildlife rehabilitation arena.

We work with animal control agencies, law enforcement and other rescues and assist with oil spills, hoarding and criminal cases involving birds. If you would like to donate to the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue click here.
