Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association (UCEMGVA)

The UC Extension Master Gardeners are your hosts of the Heritage Festival and Wild Turkey 5K Trail Run and Walk!

The Heritage Festival allows us to bring together programs, people and organizations who endeavor to make our county a better place to live and grow. The Festival seeks to educate Union County residents about our natural, cultural, and historical heritage and to provide inspiration to attain and sustain a healthy lifestyle, community and environment.

Union County Master Gardeners are volunteers who serve Union County and surrounding areas of North Carolina as part of the NC State Cooperative Extension program. Our mission is to foster a partnership to create a sustainable community through education and implementation. What that really means is ... we are here to help, as well as teach, our community about good gardening practices, composting, integrated pest management, home grown food production, and any other garden related topic. We would love to have you join us as a Certified Master Gardener. The training is thorough and professionally implemented. No prior training or formal education is required. Find out how to become a Master Gardener here. And find out about Master Gardener events and educational sessions here.

Our home base is in the Union County Agricultural Center

at 3230 Presson Road, Monroe, NC.
